Meet Our Founder
Brandi Holmes is the Founder and CEO of Connection Crew, a Chicago-based nonprofit dedicated to empowering teens and adults with cognitive disabilities, trauma histories, and behavioral health needs through inclusive, community-centered programming.
With more than 20 years of experience in social services, education, disability support, and behavioral health, Brandi has built her career serving individuals who are often marginalized by traditional systems. She has worked extensively as a case manager, counselor, care coordinator, and education professional, supporting people with autism, intellectual and developmental disabilities, serious mental illness, and complex social needs.
Brandi holds a Master of Public Administration (MPA) in Program Management, equipping her with expertise in nonprofit leadership, program design, grant management, and systems-level service delivery. She is also fluent in American Sign Language (ASL) and has spent much of her career advocating for accessibility, inclusion, and equity in schools, healthcare, and community-based programs.
Connection Crew was born from Brandi’s firsthand experience witnessing the isolation, service gaps, and lack of culturally responsive supports faced by individuals with disabilities and behavioral health needs. Through Connection Crew, she is building innovative programs that combine socialization, life skills, leadership development, and wraparound support to help participants thrive—not just survive.
Brandi is deeply committed to community partnerships, trauma-informed care, and creating spaces where every person feels seen, valued, and capable of building a meaningful future.
